Product description
In the vehicles M135i and M235i with standard braking system, the BMW lightweight sports brake discs can be installed on the front and rear axle without additional measures.
For 335i and 335d as well as 435i and 435d vehicles with serial brake, the BMW lightweight sports brake discs on the front axle can be installed without additional measures.
For vehicles with 17 "or 18" BMW M sports brake (special equipment from factory and with blue calipers), the perforated and grooved BMW lightweight sports brake discs can be installed on the front and rear axle without additional measures.
Note:
When the M Performance sports brake is retrofitted, the perforated and grooved BMW lightweight sports brake discs are already part of the respective retrofit kits.
Advantages
- Reduction of the formation of a water film between brake lining and brake disc by countersinking and grooves.
- Low weight, therefore low unsprung masses.
- Attractive look.
- Underlining the sportiness especially with light-alloy wheels with open wheel design.
- Lightweight sports brake discs are suitable for the individualisation of the vehicle, since they can not be configured as special equipment at the factory.
Homologation:
An entry in the vehicle papers is not necessary since the braking system does not change in the permissible data.
Safety instructions:
The vehicle must be gently retracted for the first 200 km after the brake discs are installed. After the break-in period, the full effectiveness of the brake system is given. Due to the design specificity of the perforated and grooved BMW light-weight sports brake discs, brake noises can occur during braking, but these have no influence on the stability of the brake discs. It is recommended to install new brake linings when installing the BMW lightweight sports brake discs. The BMW lightweight construction sports brake disc is only approved in conjunction with at least 17 "or 18" aluminum wheels (also in winter), as the respective standard brake disc!
